Parkinson’s and Mitochondrial Failure And Related Alternative Treatments

Parkinson’s and Mitochondrial Failure And Related Alternative Treatments My mom now has congestive heart failure plus her Parkinson’s – the doc said it was mild and could be treated. Please pray for her. This week she must endure several test that sound laborious if not- down right dangerous to someone in her condition, and if it were up to her and me-we would try to strengthen her before taking the tests but there is a tension from the family to act now with standard of care so she will submit. In one test she will stand until she passes out- in another test they will give her drugs to put stress on her heart- neither of these test sound like they could be good for a person in a weakened condition- has the world gone MAD? I found this interesting article about Parkinson’s and my 1st quote talks about how this doc is suspicious that the dopamine drug accelerates PD Dr Sarah Myhill “I’m also suspicious that taking dopamine agonists accelerates the progression of PD because it makes the ...

My Mom and Huperzine

My Mom is now taking Dr. Hoffman's Advanced Brain Sharp by MD Select Three capsules contain: Acetyl L-Carnitine 500 mg, Phosphatidylserine 125 mg, Huperzine A (Huperzia Serrata)(Aerial Parts), and Blueberry Extract (fruit) (Standardized to contain 25% Anthocyanidins 12.5 mg) 50 mg. Other ingredients: Dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, silica. Contains Soy. Does not contain: Yeast, Corn, Wheat, Salt, Dairy, Citrus, Fish, Preservatives, Artificial Colors or Flavors Added. She mopped her floors and still wasn't satisfied. She put Mop & Glo on them! My mom hasn't been able to do anything extra for years... so who knows... is it the huperzine or the Acetyl L-Carnitine?? Or the L-Theanine??? Anyway something is helping her tremendously!! yay!!!

My Mom

My mom just had her first eye done. We think the L-theanine was what made it so easy for her. She was very nervous about the whole thing until she began taking it. She was still nervous but just normal nervous and she did quite well. Her second cataract is much thicker and will take 4 times as long and longer recovery too- but we are confident that with the L-theanine she will be able to endure. She also was able to do her own drops by time I left- yay!!! I am so proud of her! We talked to her MD about getting a prescription for the low-dose-naltrexone, and after what seemed liked a verbal battle, she agreed to look into it. I really do not have much hope that she will prescribe the LDN though, cause she made it clear that she was wanting to see some clinicals done in the states and I don't think she will find any. I didn't when I looked. Anyone know of any clinicals or peer related articles I could use for LDN for Parkinson's???
Ok... Well, my mom says the L-Theanine makes her feel young again! I was thinking she would just take it when she went out to help with the nerves that cause the increased tremors but NO, she insists on taking it ALL the time. AND she actually was able to call the bank and health insurance company to straighten out a problem that was very upsetting to her and remain OK. She was just normal upset not totally distraught and unable to cope. That is a first in I don't know how long maybe years but at least one year!!!! YAY!!!!
My Mom has Parkinson’s and is attempting to go as long as she can before she starts the BIG guns (the prescription meds). She is taking high dose COQ-10, intravenous glutathione, undenatured whey, raw milk, L-theanine, vitamin D3 and some other basic vitamins. She has had some success with everything she has tried and has improved since beginning these various treatments. Her tremors are still very much there, but she said before she started her treatments she was not able to sing and now she can. She said her tremors used to be internal and they no longer are inside her body only on the outside now. (Maybe that will make sense to another Parkinson’s patient?) She thinks better now and especially since beginning the L-theanine. She says it makes her feel young again! And this is one supplement that was not even suggested for Parkinson’s, but it is for calming the nerves. Now, Parkinson’s patient’s tremors are much worse when they are out around people-because they are nervous about the...
